The SMILE-M5 and SMILE-M10 combine the hybrid inverter and battery into a single compact unit. No separate inverter box, no extra gateway - everything is integrated for a cleaner install and faster commissioning.

Stackable & Scalable

Start with a 13.99 kWh module and stack up to three modules for 41.99 kWh of total capacity. Larger stacks step up to the 10kW SMILE-M10 inverter, so the system's modular design lets you expand as your energy needs grow, without replacing any existing hardware.

Rebate-Aligned Capacity Tiers

The 13.99 kWh module is precisely sized to match Australia's 14 kWh and 28 kWh federal rebate tiers. This means you get maximum rebate value with no capacity wasted - a genuine advantage over competitors with non-aligned module sizes.

Built-in Aerosol Fire Suppression

Every SMILE-M5 and SMILE-M10 includes an integrated aerosol fire suppression system as standard, providing an additional layer of thermal safety beyond what most residential batteries offer. Paired with LFP chemistry, it is among the safest batteries on the Australian market.

IP65 & Ultra Quiet - Built for Australia

Fully dust-tight and splash-proof, the SMILE-M5 and SMILE-M10 are rated for indoor or outdoor installation. Their fanless design runs at under 35 dB - quieter than a library - and operates across Australia's full range of climates from -10°C to +50°C.

VPP-Ready & Future-Proof

The SMILE-M5 and SMILE-M10 are approved across SAPN, VIC Emergency Backstop, and WA Synergy networks, and support dynamic export control. They are VPP-ready out of the box - meaning you can join a Virtual Power Plant and earn additional income from your stored energy.

Both are the same all-in-one AlphaESS battery and hybrid inverter platform, built around the same 13.99 kWh module. The SMILE-M5 uses a 5kW inverter and is available with a single 13.99 kWh module. Once you stack two or more modules (27.89 kWh and above), the system steps up to the SMILE-M10 with a 10kW inverter to handle the extra capacity and output.
Both the SMILE-M5 and SMILE-M10 are fully integrated all-in-one systems - the hybrid inverter and battery are built into the same unit. You do not need to purchase a separate inverter. This also simplifies installation and reduces the number of wall-mounted components in your home.
Yes. If you have an existing solar system with a string inverter, the typical approach is to replace it with the SMILE-M5 or SMILE-M10, which then handles both solar generation and battery storage. We assess your current setup during a free consultation call at no cost to you.
Australia's federal STC rebate tiers are structured around 14 kWh and 28 kWh capacity thresholds. Both the SMILE-M5 and SMILE-M10 are built from the same 13.99 kWh module, deliberately sized to sit just within each tier, meaning you qualify for maximum rebate value at each capacity level without paying for unused capacity. This is a genuine design advantage over batteries with 10 kWh or 15 kWh modules that don't align cleanly with Australia's rebate structure.
The federal STC (Small-scale Technology Certificate) rebate is available to all eligible customers. If you add our installation service, the rebate is already factored into that price - no paperwork required. If you are purchasing the battery only and using your own installer, simply ask your CEC accredited installer to claim the rebate on your behalf at the time of installation. Either way, you are entitled to the same rebate value.
